Driving School Program Training

On this occasion, I will tell you a little about the Driving School Program training that I have just participated in. What is the Driving School Program? The Driving School Program is a program to encourage the transformation process of educational units in order to improve student learning outcomes holistic both from the aspect of cognitive competence (literacy and numeracy) or non-cognitive (character) to realize the Pancasila Student Profile. Driving School Program is a program to encourage the transformation process of educational units so that they can improve student learning outcomes holistically from both aspects cognitive competence (literacy and numeracy) or non-cognitive (character) to realize the Pancasila Student Profile. pelatihanprogram sekolah penggerak Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia Number 1177/M/2020 concerning Guidelines for Implementing the Driving School Program, states that the aim of the Driving School Program is to improve competence and character in accordance with the Pancasila Student Profile, guarantee equal distribution of educational quality through capacity building programs for school principals who are able to lead educational units in achieving quality learning, building a stronger educational ecosystem that focuses on improving quality, as well as creating a collaborative climate for stakeholders in the education sector, both at school and government levels regional and central. To achieve this goal, intervention at the educational unit level is carried out by strengthening school human resources through training and mentoring. Training and mentoring to strengthen school human resources uses a learning platform in the form of Learning Management System Driving School Program (LMS PSP) and facilitated by the instructor.

Alhamdulillah, from 25 May - 7 June 2021 I had the opportunity to take part in the Phase 1 Driving School Program Training organized by LPPKSPS

, with the instructor Mrs. Leny Tri Hartiastuti, S.Pd, and for the LMS I, Mr. Eko Rumekso, S.Kom. The participants are as follows:

 For the training schedule itself, there are two sessions, namely the morning session for participants from eastern Indonesia and the afternoon session for participants from western Indonesia. For more details, see the following attachment.
    The learning pattern applied in the Driving School Program training activities is daily learning, where participants will be presented with a series of activities that must be carried out every day.
    The following is an overview of the learning patterns presented.

 The numbers presented represent the number of days of learning, from day 1 to day 1. 10th day. The activities carried out will be different every day according to the training structure. The activities that will be carried out every day consist of activities *synchronous* And *asynchronous*. Activity *synchronous* is an activity to elaborate understanding with the instructor by providing reinforcement of understanding regarding the substance of the material, confirmation of learning, and reflection on learning obtained in independent asynchronous activities. Activity *synchronous* carried out in virtual classes via web meetings. The web meeting application used is Google Meet.

    Meanwhile on activities *asynchronous* participants read the material, watch learning videos before they come to elaborate their understanding with the facilitator in the virtual class and they start to discuss, exchange knowledge, solve problems with other participants, activities to answer reflective questions, activities to study material and discuss material with other participants, collaborative activities in groups with other participants, activities to do independent assignments and upload assignments, reflection activities on blogs,  and the activity of answering questions on the quiz. All activities *asynchronous* done within the LMS. I have implemented Moodle LMS to carry out distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Because this training uses online mode, of course there are several obstacles experienced by the participants, such as not being familiar with the Moodle LMS used, the internet network being unstable so that it affects when participating in activities. synchronous in Google Meet or in activities asynchronous working on and uploading assignments in the LMS, apart from that there is not much time to complete the assignments, so it seems like you are pressed for time so that all assignments are checked by the LMS system. Not to mention the health problems that are disrupted due to lack of rest during this training.

Of course, schools that take part in the Driving School Program will gain many benefits, including:

  • Increasing the competence of school principals and teachers
  • Improving the quality of learning outcomes within a period of 3 years
  • Accelerating school digitalization
  • Accelerating the achievement of the Pancasila Student Profile
  • Opportunities to become a catalyst for change for educational units

    Can't believe today, Monday 07 June 2021 is our last day taking part in the Driving School Program training. There are many impressions and hopes from all of us regarding this training and its implementation in our respective educational units entering the 2021/2022 academic year. Thanks and high appreciation are expressed to Mrs. Leny Tri Hartiastuti, S.Pd and Mr. Eko Rumekso, S.Kom for all their knowledge, guidance and enlightenment so that we understand about driving schools.
